Bible Lesson Illustration Episode 6

God reveals Himself to us through the Bible, which He inspired and has preserved. And He illuminates it, or helps us understand it.
Then we get to apply what we learned – that’s application.

But applying what we’ve learned is not always easy. This picture shows a young man wandering into the family room where he finds his baby sister has crawled over and broken the fortress he had been working on all morning.

He starts to get mad, but then a verse he memorized pops into his head.

Because he had that verse memorized, it popped into his head when he needed it, and it saved him from yelling at his baby sister.

That’s one of the benefits of Bible memorization – you can recall Bible verses to your mind at the moment you really need them.
