MISSION OBJECTIVE #2: STUDY THIS TOP-SECRET DOCUMENT.
In the Old Testament, Israel had kings who ruled them (bottom drawing), prophets who taught them (top left), and priests who offered sacrifices so they could be forgiven (top right).
A little bit of oil was poured on their head to show that they had been chosen to be a king, a prophet, or a priest. Putting oil on their head was called “anointing them,” and it was a symbol that they were chosen for that job.
So a “chosen one” was the same as an “anointed one.” The anointing shows that you were chosen, so they’re different ways of saying the same thing.
In the Old Testament, many people were anointed or chosen for different jobs – kings, prophets, and priests. Each of them was called “a” chosen one or “an” anointed one.
But when Jesus came, He was the ultimate King, the ultimate Prophet, and the ultimate Priest. He wasn’t “a” chosen one or “an” anointed one. He was “THE” Chosen One or “THE” Anointed One or “THE” Christ.

2 – In the name Jesus Christ, did you know that “Christ” is not His last name? Did you know that it means “The Chosen One”?
3 – Jesus was God’s “Chosen One” – chosen to save His people from their sins and to be their King forever and ever. Take a minute to pray and thank Jesus for being your Savior and your King.
